Graham Lord

Clarinet

Originally from Maple Ridge, BC, Graham Lord was appointed principal clarinetist of Orchestra London in 2008, and continues to fulfill this role with the newly-formed London Symphonia. He also freelances with a variety of symphonies across the country, having performed with the orchestras of Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Kitchener-Waterloo, Thunder Bay, Windsor, Niagara, and Nova Scotia. Outside of Canada, Graham regularly joins members of the Aradia Ensemble at the COSI opera festival in Sulmona, Italy, and was featured as a soloist and chamber musician at the Scotiabank Northern Lights festival in Ajijic, Mexico.

Graham studied with Wesley Foster at UBC (BMus) and Robert Crowley at McGill University (MMus), and won first prize in the CBC/McGill competition during his final year of study. He is also an alumnus of both the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the Hamilton-based National Academy Orchestra. In 2010, Graham received a fellowship to attend Norfolk, Yale University’s summer chamber music festival, where he had the privilege of playing alongside and being coached by David Shifrin, Richard Stoltzman, and the Tokyo String Quartet.
