Jimmie LeBlancCA

Jimmie LeBlanc has completed a doctorate in composition at McGill University, where he notably explored how music can be thought of in terms of "capture of forces" and "logic of sensation". Ensembles that have performed his music include Ensemble Contrechamps, Esprit Orchestra, Continuum Contemporary Music, Quatuor Bozzini and Camerata Aberta. He was the recipient of the 2009 Canada Council for the Arts Jules-Léger Prize and was composer-in-residence at La Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur (Montreal, 2014-2016). He teaches composition at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and is currently preparing new works for Quasar quatuor de saxophones and Ensemble Paramirabo.
