Kristen Bruya

Kristen Bruya has held the position of Assistant Principal Bass with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since the fall of 2010. Previously, Ms. Bruya was a member of the Nashville Symphony bass section for four years. 

Ms. Bruya, a native of Missoula, Montana, received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Stuart Sankey. She has also studied with Albert Laszlo at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for two years, and received a Master of Music from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where she studied  with Tim Pitts, and Paul Ellison. From 2000-2004 Ms. Bruya was a Fellow of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.

Recently Ms. Bruya has performed with the Santa Fe Opera, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and The Angel Fire Music Festival.
