Matthew RizzutoCA

Matthew Rizzuto (born 1973) lives and works in Montréal, Québec, Canada.  As a creator Matthew is simultaneously at work within the classical concert and multidisciplinary environments. 

Matthew has had the pleasure of working with many notable ensembles, organizations and  professional people, including the Ives Ensemble, muziektheaterensemble SOIL, and ensemble de ereprijs (the Netherlands), the IXION ensemble (U.K.), ALSOP architects (U.K./Toronto), the Hermes Ensemble (Belgium), Trio Fibonacci (Belgium/Montréal), author/curator Nicholas Olsberg (Arizona, U.S.A.), the Quatuor Bozzini, ensemble KORE, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Société de musique contemporaine du Québec, and and Centre International D’Art Contemporain in Montréal.

Matthew’s work has been presented throughout North America and Europe in venues including the Gaudeamus International Music Week, DeSuite Muziekweek, and NPS 4 radio (The Netherlands), the BMIC ‘The Cutting Edge’ series (U.K.), the Bromsgove Concert Series (U.K.), the Crash Festival (Ireland), CBC / Radio-Canada, and the Biennale de Montréal 2004.

Matthew Rizzuto was the recipient of the Prix Québec-Flandre in 2002, and his work has garnered other prizes including one within the CBC Young Composers' Competition 2003, and two SOCAN awards.
