Continuum is launching its new annual summer performance mentorship program, specializing in contemporary chamber music performance.

For performers who play Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Cello, Piano, Percussion

Continuum Contemporary Music is delighted to announce a call for applications from early-career performers, based in the Toronto area, or those who can provide their own accommodation in Toronto for the duration of the program.

The six selected performers will:

  1. attend rehearsals in Toronto from July 25 - July 31, 2019;
  2. perform in six works in a four concert mini-tour (between July 31 and August 7);
  3. receive mentorship in their instrument from Continuum’s core ensemble throughout the process as well as in private lessons. Mentors: Leslie Newman (fl), Anthony Thompson (cl), Carol Fujino (vn), Paul Widner (vcl), Gregory Oh (pno), Ryan Scott (perc);
  4. Receive a $500 honorarium, transportation to and from concert venues, and lodging for one night in Ottawa.

Four performances of the works will take place at:

The Toronto Summer Music Festival; The Stratford Summer Music Festival; Ottawa Chamberfest; Festival of the Sound, Parry Sound

These concerts will feature the works of three early-career composers (also part of HATCH - call for applications forthcoming) and three mentor composers Brian Current, James Rolfe, Linda Smith.

Applicants from outside Toronto please be advised that should you be selected, you will have to arrange accommodations in Toronto for the duration of the program.
