Announcing PIVOT

A new mentorship program for Canadian composers

Continuum is delighted to announce our participation in a national mentorship program for early-career Canadian composers, presented in collaboration with the Canadian League of Composers (CLC) and the Canadian Music Centre (CMC). PIVOT provides an unparalleled opportunity for six composers living in Canada to work directly with – and have their music performed by – Continuum’s ensemble.

Between Fall 2016 and Spring 2017, participants will experience first-hand the professional development opportunities offered by the CLC in Toronto, the project’s home base. Each participant composer will be matched with a mentor composer, individually tailored to their skills and needs through a consultative selection process. The mentor-composer will act as a reference for each participant over a six-month period to help with their creative process and guide them as they begin work on their new compositions.

PIVOT gives composers the tools necessary to succeed:  practical compositional experience, one-on-one mentorship, and invaluable professional development resources.

PIVOT is a nation-wide initiative – no matter where you live in Canada, please help us spread the word!

Application deadline is June 30, 2016. There is no application fee.  Details are available here.
