Continuum nominated for Roy Thomson Hall Award

Continuum was honoured to be named one of three finalists for the 2014 Roy Thomson Hall Award of Recognition.  In making the recommendation, the jury cited Continuum for “the commitment of the artistic leadership and the ensemble members and the organization’s accomplishments in 30 years of work in contemporary music”.  The winner was revealed at the Mayor’s Arts Luncheon on June 19, 2014 – congratulations to Michie Mee for taking home the $10,000 prize, and to fellow nominees The Gryphon Trio. Roy Thomson Hall Award of Recognition is presented to an individual, ensemble or organization to recognize creative, performing, administrative, volunteer or philanthropic contributions to Toronto’s musical life. Established by the Volunteer Committee of Roy Thomson Hall in 1984 to recognize and thank the community that supported the conception, building and establishment of the new concert hall, the Toronto Arts Foundation has managed the award since 2002 on behalf of the Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall.
