HATCH – Continuum Summer Music Mentorship for EARLY-CAREER PERFORMERS

HATCH runs from July 25 – August 6, 2020

For performers who play Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Cello, Piano, Percussion, and Conductor

Continuum Contemporary Music is delighted to announce a call for applications from early-career performers, based in the Toronto area, or those who can provide their own accommodation in Toronto for the duration of the program.


The six selected performers will:

1. attend rehearsals in Toronto

2. perform in five works in a three concert mini-tour

3. receive mentorship in their instrument from Continuum’s core ensemble throughout the process as well as in private lessons. Mentors: Leslie Newman (fl), Anthony Thompson (cl), Carol Fujino (vn), Paul Widner (vcl), Gregory Oh (pno), Ryan Scott (perc), and Brian Current (conductor)

4. Receive a $750 honorarium, transportation to and from concert venues, and hotel accommodation for one night in Ottawa.

Performances of the works will take place in Toronto, Ottawa, and Parry Sound.

These concerts will feature the works of three early-career composers (also part of HATCH – call for applications forthcoming) and two mentor composers Emilie LeBel and Anna Höstman.
