Help Us Share the Music

HELP US SUPPORT THE MUSICIANS OF TOMORROW BY INVESTING IN CONTINUUM TODAY.

DONATE HERE
In addition to our main-stage concerts, we continue to focus on new
education initiatives. Never before in our 34-year history have we been
able to invest so greatly in the next generation(s) of music-makers.
Here is what we are doing:

HATCH: This summer, we mentor 6 early-career performers and 3
early-career composers and tour our concerts to chamber music festivals
in Toronto (July 31), Stratford (Aug. 3), Ottawa Aug. (4&5) and Parry
Sound (Aug. 7) – applications are pouring in for this unique
opportunity.

PIVOT: Chosen from over 90 applicants, we feature 6 early-career
composers on March 30. This is our second collaboration with the
Canadian League of Composers and the Canadian Music Centre in our
ongoing biennial national emerging composer celebration.

THE TORONTO TEEN COMPOSER AWARD: The TTCA is now in its 3rd year and we
are delighted to feature the music of Sarah Lu from Stephen Lewis
Secondary School; and we’re excited that she is the first recipient to
include electronics in her work! Featured pre-concert at PIVOT on March
30

CONTINUUM IN THE CLASSROOM: In our seventh year, the Continuum core
ensemble gathers at Martingrove Secondary School with their orchestra on
March 7th to perform 10 new works composed by students from elementary
schools across the GTA; all mentored by composer Christopher
Thornborrow. By the end of this year we will have engaged with more than
7500 TDSB students in the creation of over 75 new works – Any one can
make music!

WHY? We genuinely believe in the unique mandate (our constitution) that
guides the ebb and flow of all of Continuum’s activities (onstage or
off.) We support all artists with unique opportunities to contribute to
music – opportunities they may not have elsewhere. AND -we promise to
continue to go the extra mile and continue to punch above our weight
class.

Although we are genuinely invested in the next generation of excellence
in the art and practice of music, mentorship and lessons are not free:
artists need to be paid for their time and energy.

Help us – DONATE NOW to our education initiatives and be a part of our
contribution to all the music yet to be imagined. Be a part of the
Continuum team. Please consider becoming a donor or renewing your
support now.

Yours truly,

Ryan Scott
